NDI has been working in Bangladesh since 1986 and has sought a suitable method of dialogue for the general public. NDI believes that the Swedish Study Circle method is a very effective approach to encourage participation and dialogue among members of the public. Initially, NDI organized a few study circles with its own resources. The positive outcome inspired NDI to implement a one-year pilot project in 2003 in partnership with four major local NGOs. Today NDI works closely with local partner NGOs with the financial help of the Swedish SIDA.
