NDI expects to
continue to support the activities of the partner NGOs and
expand the activities of its non-funded associate partners,
helping these NGOs to mobilize resources to continue using
the Study Circle method independently. The partner NGOs continue
to work on the organization of pre-circle general meetings
and continue to conduct actual circles in their respective
areas. The Institute will organize refresher courses for the
officials of the partners and associate partners, and will
continue organizing a series of orientation programs for interested
NGOs. NDI will also assist non-funded associate partners by
providing training on organizing and conducting Study Circles,
and will continue to develop issue-based discussion guidebooks,
newsletters, a Study Circle website and a video documentary
on the program. In addition, NDI has requested the partner
NGOs to conduct Study Circles on Democracy and Civic Awareness
and Democratic Practice wherever possible. In the coming months,
NDI will work with the Study Circle Steering Committee to
generate press coverage and monitor the progress of activities.
NDI continues to regularly collect feedback on Study Circle
successes and challenges, and is monitoring the progress of
activities. As demonstrated through the case studies provided
in the previous section, Study Circles are already galvanizing
citizens to work together to address issues that matter in
their communities. |
